Roux chante comme on soupire : l’espoir se niche dans les recoins sombres de ses démons, la beauté perce sous la charogne. Ce parolier noir réussit à marier douleur existentielle et féroce optimisme. Il chante une condition trop humaine, ses heurts, ses larmes, ses amours, ses besoins de lendemains meilleurs, d’aube qui rougit à l’horizon. Et sa poésie rocailleuse est contagieuse… Cette plume bien encrée n’en est pas à ses premières lignes. Christian Roux est écrivain, de romans noirs pour sûr, scénariste, blogueur, soucieux de la chose sociétale et du fait artistique. Une écriture qui ose une sobriété télégraphique, une fausse simplicité où les silences se remplissent d’idées, où les phrases se passent de conjugaison, les verbes de sujet.
Rock désenchanté, pensée alternative et chorégraphie scénique
Et ses mots semblent voués à dire, à interpeller, à gratter l’humain inquiet qui sommeille dans tout animal social, à intégrer la nécessité artistique de la mélancolie, à éliminer le récréatif. « Je refuse de considérer la chanson comme un divertissement […] Ce que j’en ai assez, de ces causes squattées par le cheptel acoustico-festif d’un côté, punkàdonf de l’autre… Amis anars, n’avons-nous pas eu Ferré pour combler nos soirées’ » La voix est sobre – quoique s’autorisant quelques rayures, grave, peu chantante et scandée, parfois monotone, soudain agressive. Collant aux mots et plantant les émotions sûrement, les arrangements sont dépouillés, très justement rock, habillés de chœurs angéliques et de montées ondulatoires. Sur scène, ce flux sinueux ne sera pas transmis que par la musique : une danseuse – succube ou ange ? – liera rythmiques sonores et sensations visuelles…
