L’invitation, par l’Orchestre national d’Île-de-France, d’Ottavio Dantone, claviériste et chef reconnu dans le Baroque, illustre les passerelles qui se développent depuis plusieurs années entre les pratiques sur instruments anciens et celles des formations modernes, ces dernières se nourrissant des acquis des premières pour retrouver, avec une fraîcheur nouvelle, des pans du répertoire, comme le classicisme viennois, qu’elles hésitaient parfois à jouer. Le programme que dirige le maestro italien en livre un condensé avec deux opus majeurs. Surnommé « Jupiter », la Symphonie n°41 révèle un Mozart au sommet de ses moyens, avec un finale contrapuntique qui se conclut sur une coda irradiante. La magistrale n°104 de Haydn est également la dernière d’une prolifique production symphonique et clôt le cycle que le compositeur avait écrit lors de ses deux séjours en Angleterre. Le concert est complété par l’ouverture des Noces de Figaro, que l’on ne présente plus, et L’île déserte, musique de scène méconnue de Haydn, comme la plupart de son corpus pour le théâtre.
