La jeune scène française des violonistes de jazz ne cesse de faire parler d’elle et de voir émerger de nouveaux leaders. Dans la lignée des Théo Ceccaldi, Fiona Monbet ou Mathias Lévy, on peut aujourd’hui s’intéresser à Clément Janinet, leader et compositeur du quartette O.U.R.S. (acronyme de « Ornette Under The Repetitives Skies ») fondé en 2017. La musique radicale, directe et cinglante de ce groupe composé d’Hugues Mayot (saxophone ténor, clarinette basse), Joachim Florent (contrebasse) et Emmanuel Scarpa (batterie) explore un territoire musical singulier, brassant les éclats lyriques du free jazz des années 60 (celui d’Ornette Coleman en premier lieu) et les obsessions rythmiques des compositeurs de la musique répétitive américaine (Reich, Adams et Glass).
