La Rousse, la Normande, Marguerite, la Noiraude, Pâquerette, Vachette… Elles partent à l’abattoir en chantant, sans jamais protester, sans tenter d’échapper à leur future condition de viande à steak. Prenant le parti de l’absurde et du décalage, Marie-Do Fréval allie textes, chansons, musiques et chorégraphies pour concevoir une joyeuse allégorie des impasses comportementales dans lesquelles se fourvoie l’homme contemporain. « Miroir de notre solitude et de nos corps écroulés dans des canapés, incapables de réagir devant les images de guerre qui défilent, incapables de révolte devant la cruauté du monde », ce troupeau de vaches stigmatise notre inertie, notre inaptitude à nous mettre en colère. « Pourquoi sommes-nous si souvent immobiles et impuissants, questionne la metteure en scène. Qu’en est-il de notre condition aujourd’hui, du rendement, de la performance, de notre aveuglement, de notre perte d’identité, de la mort ? ».
