Le spectacle repose sur des interprètes de grande qualité, capables d’incarner un univers très spécifique, de se plier à des contraintes fortes, tout en laissant surgir une grande part d’eux-mêmes. Ils se distinguent par leur capacité à se métamorphoser tout au long de la pièce, guidés par la chorégraphe par oreillettes interposées. Au cœur de la mise en mouvement : sa vision du tableau de Brueghel l’Ancien, qui donne son titre à la pièce, distillée tout au long du spectacle en une incessante traversée de corps rythmée par un métronome. Les postures, attitudes, gestes, grimaces, se succèdent dans une transformation progressive de l’espace. Libre au spectateur de recomposer une histoire ou des images mentales de cette confrontation entre l’excès et la restriction. Il en ressort la puissance d’une écriture corporelle qui se nourrit aussi bien d’expressionnisme que d’abstraction pour mieux délivrer sa beauté plastique.
