Pour écrire cette pièce, le chorégraphe Josef Nadj s’est plongé dans la vie
de l’écrivain hongrois Geza Csath, consommateur d’opium, mort à l’âge de 32 ans.
Si l’atmosphère qui se dégage du spectacle est sombre, elle n?en est pas moins
burlesque par les situations provoquées par la danse, sans pour autant
s’attacher à la noirceur d’un récit. Les interprètes endossent de sérieux
costumes trois pièces pour s’engouffrer dans une gestuelle pantomimique où
l’acrobatie n?est pas loin. La scénographie, faite de trappes, de fenêtres, de
palissades, de jeux d’apparitions et de disparitions, influence les corps qui
s’adaptent, se tordent, se rapetissent. On se porte, on se tracte comme pour
échapper à un destin pesant. Les situations s’enchaînent comme dans un rêve où
la parole est bannie, mais où les états de corps trahissent toute la difficulté
de vivre d’une communauté.
