Ils sont peu de chorégraphes à raconter des histoires, au sens où un livret – comme on disait autrefois – ou un scénario vient enrichir la trame du spectacle. C’est le cas de Nasser Martin-Gousset, qui signe avec Comedy une pièce en forme d’intrigue policière : le vol d’un collier de diamants, d’une valeur inestimable, a eu lieu lors d’une réception privée chez un couple. Ce qui pourrait être une véritable fiction cinématographique, le chorégraphe l’applique à la scène, tout en faisant usage de mécanismes de construction propres au cinéma, ou même à la musique jazz, jouée en direct par un quartet : la danse reprend aussi bien des structures musicales quasi géométriques, qu’un agencement spatial digne des meilleurs studios. Il se dégage de la pièce un univers visuel et narratif très fort, doublé d’une légèreté à la limite de l’absurde à travers l’insouciance de la musique de Dave Brubeck.
