PIANO / GRAND AMPHI D’ASSAS
En 1989, Gérard Bekerman, professeur d’économie mais aussi pianiste diplômé de l’Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris, lançait cette manifestation attachante consacrée aux pianistes amateurs… de très haut niveau. Pour la vingt-cinquième édition de la compétition, quatre-vingts candidats exerçant un métier n’ayant rien à voir avec la musique et venant de vingt-trois pays s’affrontent. Toutes les épreuves sont ouvertes au public, qu’il s’agisse des éliminatoires (les 5 et 6 mars de 11 h à 19 h à la Mairie du 16è), de la demi-finale (le 7 mars à 19h), ou bien sûr de la finale du dimanche 9 mars à 15h dans l’Amphithéâtre de l’Université Panthéon-Assas. On remarque le niveau très relevé du jury du concours qui comprend des pianistes de renom tels Yves Henry, Tristan Pfaff, Bruno Rigutto, Michel Dalberto ou Eric Heidsieck.
