Un corps meurtri par son pays. Depuis plusieurs années, Djodjo Kazadi – chorégraphe congolais, que l’on a connu comme danseur au sein de la compagnie de Faustin Linyekula – explore la mémoire du corps. Mais on pouvait difficilement imaginer qu’il en tirerait un projet aussi fort que Congo my body (2011). Dans cette pièce, il cherche à retrouver la mémoire de ses dix ans, à interroger son enfance et celle de ses deux partenaires marionnettistes – deux artistes dont les souvenirs nous plongent dans la violence de l’histoire de la République Démocratique du Congo : Serge Amisi et Jean René Yaoundé Mulamba ont été enfants soldats, entre 1997 et 2001. Ils ont ensuite découvert l’art et l’artisanat, et sont devenus marionnettistes. Danse, chant, objets réels et imaginaires sont alors un moyen de se réapproprier une histoire sans nom. Et, sans rancœur et sans haine, de libérer la parole.
