Instrument fascinant aux mille possibilités sonores, la harpe n’a que trop peu souvent les honneurs du devant de la scène. Souvent étouffée dans l’orchestre, plus que rare dans le répertoire chambriste, seule la musique contemporaine lui ouvre de véritables horizons nouveaux. C’est ce qu’a compris la harpiste Constance Luzzati, musicologue et instrumentiste de haut niveau, lauréate de plusieurs concours internationaux, qui s’est résolument aventurée dans le développement d’un nouveau répertoire pour son instrument. Une démarche audacieuse qui passe par la redécouverte de pièces de musique ancienne (qu’elle a étudiée avec le claveciniste Keneth Weiss) et bien sûr par la création d’œuvres nouvelles de compositeurs contemporains. Parmi ces pièces, Tocar pour harpe seule composé spécialement pour Constance Luzzati par Bruno Mantovani et créé en mars 2006, qui figure au cœur de ce récital. Elle voisine avec d’autres partitions de notre temps (Eliott Carter, Franco Donatoni) et des transcriptions de pages de Bach, Rameau et Scarlatti conçues initialement pour le clavecin.
