Le Concerto pour deux pianos de Poulenc condense toute sa facette facétieuse, où il s’amuse à citer et pasticher les styles les plus divers de l’histoire de la musique. Sous la baguette d’une des cheffes les plus remarquées de la nouvelle génération, Ainars Rubikis, le Duo Geisler s’inscrira dans la lignée de la complicité du compositeur français avec Jacques Février, après, en ouverture, une création du jeune Finlandais Joel Järventausta, dans le cadre des 50 ans de l’Orchestre national d’Île-de-France. En seconde partie de soirée, la Quatrième Symphonie de Bruckner, avec un Scherzo qui se distingue par ses fanfares chasseresses, constitue sans doute l’un des opus les plus accessibles de la minéralité métaphysique du maître autrichien. Le programme dirigé par Case Scaglione est articulé autour de l’amitié quasi-gémellaire entre Brahms et Dvorak. Du premier, le Concerto pour violon est confié à Ann-Estelle Médouze, premier violon supersoliste de l’orchestre, avant la Neuvième Symphonie dite «du Nouveau Monde» que le second a écrite lors de sa tournée aux États-Unis.
