Présentée dans le cadre de l’Euro 2008, la recréation de cette pièce entièrement dédiée au football a fait son petit effet. On y retrouve une équipe de garçons aussi bien rompus aux tacles et autres ailes de pigeons qu’aux coupoles ou saltos arrière. Ici, le propos de mettre en danse hip hop les gestes « footballistiques » fonctionne à plein régime, servi par des danseurs de haut niveau. On assiste à la préparation, aux matchs, qu’ils soient sur un stade avec un ballon ou en pied d’immeuble avec une canette. Cette adaptation littérale du monde du football s’arrête cependant là, là justement où, 18 ans après, la société a profondément changé et notre rapport au foot, au sport-spectacle avec.
Un beau spectacle, trop peu engagé
Que dit le spectacle à travers cette bande de jeunes survitaminés, qui jonglent avec le ballon avec tant de virtuosité ? Même si la pièce repose sur une trame narrative, la chorégraphe place la performance au cœur de son propos, et relègue les filles dans des rôles de faire-valoir ou des stéréotypes malvenus. Christine Coudun aurait pu, pour le coup, prendre à contre-pied, par le geste artistique, le monde du football. Car le hip hop aussi a changé, et l’on ne peut l’assigner au simple divertissement, à la séduction par la performance physique.
