CHEFFE ET FEMME, FEMME ET CHEFFE
« J‘ai commencé le violoncelle à l‘âge de 5 ans, plutôt par un heureux hasard. Dès que j‘ai intégré les rangs d’un orchestre, j‘ai été émerveillée par les timbres qu’un orchestre peut créer. Je prenais un plaisir fou à jouer avec d’autres personnes et je me suis intéressée dès le début à leurs voix et à ce que ma voix pouvait leur apporter. De plus, j’ai fait beaucoup de musique baroque où le violoncelle et la basse continue jouent un rôle de moteur en soutenant ou animant les voix principales. A partir de là, la direction d’orchestre apparaissait comme une conséquence et une évolution naturelle pour moi.
Ouvrir de nouveaux horizons
Après deux saisons comme chef assistante à l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Rotterdam, je me réjouis de prendre aujourd’hui la direction principale d’un orchestre. C’est une belle nouvelle étape pour laquelle je me sens prête. Je m’intéresse beaucoup à la question du rôle d’un orchestre dans la société, comme d’ailleurs mes deux mentors François-Xavier Roth et Ivan Fischer. Je cherchais un orchestre moderne, proche de son public, permettant des expériences artistiques, ne cessant d’ouvrir les horizons. Tout cela à travers l’excellence musicale et des projets innovants. À l’Orchestre de Chambre du Luxembourg, j’ai trouvé une équipe curieuse qui partage cette vision ».
