De tous les opéras de Mozart, Cosi est sans doute le plus singulier. Mozart y déploie toute l’élégance et l’immense profondeur de son art avec la volonté d’aller à l’essentiel. Pas de décorations subtiles ni de délicieuses fioritures, mais une inventivité formelle et architecturale grandiose, servant l’évidence mélodique du génie comme jamais. Un Mozart épuré, quasi-minimaliste ! L’ensemble Philidor, dirigé par François Bazola, propose une version réarrangée pour instruments à vents. Cette adaptation, directement inspirée de l’instrumentation de la Gran Partita (Kv361) du même Mozart, mettra en relief l’attention toute particulière que Mozart portait aux vents. Les voix et les vents s’unissent donc ici dans un même souffle pour souligner la diversité des sentiments présents dans le livret de Da Ponte. Il y est question d’amour, de fidélité, de mensonge, de faiblesse humaine, de pardon. Un véritable éventail des affects qui permet à cet opéra d’être sans cesse revisité, renouvelé. C’est Yves Beaunesne qui signe la mise en scène de cette enthousiasmante proposition.
