Venus de France, de Belgique, des Pays-Bas, d’Allemagne, d’Italie, d’Angleterre ou de Hongrie, les artistes de Surfaces ont la particularité de se confronter sans complexe à la création in situ, investissant parcs et jardins, rues et façades… C’est une déferlante qui s’annonce, tant la programmation joue la carte assumée de la diversité : de la danse, du théâtre, des arts de la rue, tout se bouscule pour se confronter au macadam et au quotidien d’Alès. On ne s’étonnera pas de voir les danseurs-bibendum de Didier Théron, Gonflés à bloc dans leurs costumes multicolores. Ils côtoient par exemple les catalans de Bunny me ! , autrement accoutrés en lapins-chômeurs. On l’aura compris, l’humour est un fil conducteur que l’on suivra tout au long de l’événement…
Une dimension internationale, et les catalans à l’honneur
C’est l’occasion de revenir, au détour d’une rue, sur quelques petites perles disséminées ça et là : le clown catalan Léandre et sa poésie du quotidien, la danseuse Claire Ducreux et son arceau, Mélissa von Vépy et sa belle traversée du miroir, les étranges créatures du Studio Eclipse, compagnie Flamande… Plus spectaculaires, voire même phénoménales, les Anges Gardiens du Bangditos Theater mettront le champ de foire en feu. En ouverture et en clôture, le Cratère d’Alès met tout en œuvre pour faire de cet événement une véritable fête : sortez flonflons et musettes, paniers et glacières, le public investit, lui aussi, la rue.
