MAISON DE LA RADIO / KORA ET ORCHESTRE
Le xxe siècle a été celui de la rencontre des mondes musicaux. Dépassant l’orientalisme qui s’était affirmé au siècle précédent, de nombreux compositeurs puiseront dans une écoute attentive des musiques extra-européennes les ferments de révolutions musicales : nouvelles temporalités, nouvelles couleurs, nouvelles approches instrumentales. Le chemin est aussi parcouru dans l’autre sens. Ballaké Sissoko, maître de la kora, est héritier d’une tradition musicale, celle des griots, mais il explore aussi les possibilités des vingt-et-une cordes de son instrument, en solo (c’est ainsi qu’il ouvrira le concert à la Maison de la Radio) ou avec des musiciens venus d’horizons divers (dont le violoncelliste Vincent Ségal et l’accordéoniste Vincent Peirani).
Révéler le mystère des sons
La rencontre avec Zad Moultaka n’a rien d’étonnant. Le compositeur libanais, qui développe en parallèle une puissante œuvre de plasticien, n’a pas son pareil pour creuser le son jusqu’au silence et jouer du clair-obscur et des densités contrastées. Nourri des traditions musicales des deux bords de la Méditerranée, il n’en fait pas un usage littéral, plutôt l’ébauche de pistes – par le geste, par l’écoute, par l’intériorisation de la musique – pour explorer et révéler le mystère des sons.
