« La parution du roman de Fred Vargas, Pars vite et reviens tard, a impulsé la renaissance du crieur contemporain. Sa parole est différente de son aïeul parce qu’il est artiste : il ne clame plus l’avis officiel mais celui des habitants. Il propose à la population de créer avec lui un langage poétique au cœur du territoire » explique l’auteur et interprète de ce spectacle qui retrace le parcours initiatique d’Hyppolite, crieur « contemporain ». L’invention du personnage se nourrit de différents entretiens qu’Olivier Hédin a conduits avec d’anciens crieurs publics, des membres de leur famille ou des personnages qui ont connu des crieurs dans le passé. Ces témoignages qui font exister ces personnalités de la vie publique aujourd’hui disparues, ces anecdotes liées aux criées comme à leur impact sur la population et l’espace public, forment la matière de ce spectacle. Non seulement Crieur(s) porte à la scène une mémoire, mais il ouvre un nouvel espace d’expérience et… de communication !
