Le Cyrano de Dominique Pitoiset peut crier victoire ! Sa mise en scène singulière, décalée, drôle et profondément émouvante installe les protagonistes dans une sorte de salle d’hôpital psychiatrique, un lieu de vie abîmée, bien différent d’un cadre historique. Carrelage blanc, mobilier basique, survêtements informes et baskets, on se croirait presque dans Vol au-dessus d’un nid de coucou ! Ce Cyrano, porté par un Philippe Torreton exceptionnel, a été ovationné par le public et la critique lors de sa création. « Cyrano manifeste, tour à tour, un appétit boulimique pour les mots, pour les paroles flamboyantes, pour les prises de risque, et une profonde mélancolie, une nature traversée par des humeurs sombres. Je trouve cette mélancolie absolument bouleversante. Je crois que mon amour pour Cyrano naît de cette grande solitude, et du défi que sa personnalité lance à la raison raisonnable. » précise le metteur en scène dans nos colonnes (La Terrasse n°206). Dominique Pitoiset a manifestement réussi à porter à la scène et à partager avec les spectateurs son amour pour le grandiose, courageux et fragile personnage. Que rêver de mieux au théâtre ?
