Tout d’abord spécialisée dans le théâtre pour enfants, la compagnie Le Grenier de Babouchka (créée en 2003) a fini par élargir ses horizons pour s’orienter vers des créations de pièces classiques. Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme, Les Femmes Savantes, L’Avare, et aujourd’hui un Cyrano de Bergerac sonore et musical au sein duquel, dans le rôle-titre, le comédien Stéphane Dauch fait face à un violoniste. « C’est avant tout sur la mise en son de l’écriture de l’auteur par l’acteur que je me suis concentré, afin de provoquer chez le spectateur une émotion à la fois intellectuelle et charnelle, déclare le metteur en scène Jean-Philippe Daguerre. Concernant la place du violon et du violoniste dans le spectacle, j’ai imaginé que Cyrano et le violoniste ne faisaient qu’un, ce dernier apparaissant souvent tel une ombre au grand nez. » Cette ombre, c’est le violoniste Petr Ruzicka. Il marche sur les pas du héros imaginé par Edmond Rostand, devient comme son âme : l’âme d’un soldat à la gueule cassée, d’un poète amoureux qui met son « art de dire » au service d’un autre.
