Le monde musical de Daniel Goyone est fait de miniatures tour à tour lumineuses, poétiques et vives, nourries par un foisonnement rythmique et des mélodies radieuses. « Le propre d’un bon titre est de pouvoir susciter une multiplicité d’interprétations, de suggérer sans définir, de laisser la porte ouverte au rêve, nous confie le musicien. Pour "Etranges Manèges", on pourrait penser à la sonorité des mots, faire référence à la présence constante dans la musique de cycles harmoniques ou rythmiques, ou encore à l’idée du manège comme point de passage entre réalité et imaginaire ». Plus compositeur et inventeur de climats que pianiste au sens soliste du terme, Goyone aime à éclairer dans ses compositions « les liens indissolubles entre les thèmes mélodiques et les soubassements rythmiques qui les ont générés ».
