L’ouverture de saison est un moment toujours particulier dans la vie d’un orchestre. C’est un peu comme l’inauguration d’un restaurant : les employés sont au taquet, les critiques rôdent dans la salle, l’ambiance oscille entre tension et excitation… L’Orchestre National de France a choisi de débuter sa saison avec la Symphonie n°9 de Mahler, poursuivant ainsi son intégrale des symphonies du compositeur autrichien. On aurait pu imaginer choix plus festif que cette symphonie, considérée comme le testament symphonique de Mahler. Le public sera en tout cas présent pour juger du lien construit entre l’orchestre et son directeur musical. L’ambiance sera à coup sûr plus allègre le 22 septembre lors d’un concert faisant la part belle à la musique française. C’est le défilé des tubes : L’Apprenti sorcier de Dukas, Iberia de Debussy, le Boléro de Ravel. Un vrai programme d’ambassadeur, que l’orchestre proposera d’ailleurs ensuite en tournée à l’étranger. Seule rareté : la Symphonie concertante d’Enesco, défendue par la remarquable violoncelliste Han Na Chang.
