Publié au Mercure de France, lauréat du prix Femina en 2009, le roman de Gwenaëlle Aubry est aujourd’hui porté au théâtre par Sarah Karbasnikoff et Elisabeth Chailloux. « Dans Personne, l’autrice parle de son père bipolaire, explique la metteuse en scène, un homme avec autant de visages, autant de masques qu’il y a de lettres de l’alphabet. Et derrière les masques, les pelures, comme pour Peer Gynt, un vide vertigineux... » Faisant s’entremêler les mots de Gwenaëlle Aubry et des fragments d’un texte autobiographique écrit par son père avant sa mort, « Personne est à la fois une enquête, un chant d’amour, un dialogue entre un père et sa fille, et un impossible portrait à mettre en scène », poursuit Elisabeth Chailloux. L’ancienne co-directrice du Théâtre des Quartiers d’Ivry a pourtant relevé ce défi. Elle propose, avec son interprète, un théâtre d’ombres dont la voix unique se dédouble pour tenter de cerner « un homme étranger au monde et à lui-même ».
