« La danse est une arme » ; affirmait le New Dance Group dès les années 30. Ce collectif n’hésitait pas à prendre à bras le corps les problèmes de la Grande Dépression aux Etats-Unis en faisant acte de danse comme on fait acte en politique. Danser dans les syndicats ou sur la scène d’un théâtre, mais danser coûte que coûte, comme pour mieux affirmer une parole et bouleverser les consciences. L’exposition proposée pendant le festival retrace ici l’histoire de ce groupe de femmes, et l’on ne peut s’empêcher de la mettre en perspective avec l’actualité chorégraphique du moment. Si revendication il y a, elle se situe souvent dans des pièces qui bousculent l’ordre établi du spectacle vivant, transgressent les formes pour mieux montrer les aspérités du corps, de l’individu, et, au-delà, de la société. Avec sa création Apertae, le directeur artistique de ce temps fort, Bernardo Montet, présente neuf interprètes dans toutes les rugosités qu’ils peuvent offrir : celles-ci se situent avant tout dans leurs vies personnelles, dans leurs identités d’hommes et de femmes malgaches, ivoiriens, israéliens, marocains, grecs, vietnamiens.
Création contemporaine marocaine
Meg Stuart, avec Blessed, invite à un retour sur des événements forts ayant précédé le chaos. Ainsi l’ouragan Katrina, qui a dévasté sa ville natale en 2005, est une référence directement lisible dans sa pièce. Elle qui sait si bien donner chair aux humanités blessées, déchiquetées, s’appuie sur le danseur Francisco Camacho pour rendre compte de ce qui reste quand on n’a plus rien. Parmi les propositions de ces dix jours de spectacles, d’expos, de conférences, de “trainings“…, on note la présence d’une soirée dédiée à la création contemporaine marocaine, à travers deux pièces de femmes : dans les deux cas, la féminité, dans toutes ses singularités, est au cœur de la démarche. Avec Aïta, par exemple, Bouchra Ouizguen rend hommage à la musique des Aïtas, chanteuses traditionnelles dont la virtuosité s’exprime par des clameurs et des incantations.
