C’est un véritable paradoxe : le Café de la Danse ne programme (presque) jamais de danse. Il est donc particulièrement réjouissant d’apprendre que, trois jours durant, il sera investi par des compagnies de Champagne-Ardenne, bien décidées à donner de la visibilité à leur travail. L’initiative de cet événement revient au « Laboratoire des compagnies », dirigé par la compagnie Icosaèdre et sa chorégraphe, Marilén Iglesias-Breuker. Cette structure apparaît comme une réponse aux difficultés de tout ordre – financements réduits, outils de travail rares, diffusion ardue… – que rencontrent toutes les compagnies de danse en France aujourd’hui. Le Laboratoire des compagnies cherche à mutualiser certains moyens et à valoriser la présence de la danse contemporaine en région, par le biais de diverses initiatives. Cette structure s’exporte à Paris au mois de mars, pour proposer au public et aux professionnels de découvrir le travail de trois compagnies de Champagne-Ardenne. Trop souvent en effet, les compagnies implantées en province restent cantonnées à une diffusion sur un territoire réduit, leur travail restant méconnu des programmateurs d’autres régions et de la capitale.
Soirées composées
Chacune des trois soirées de cette édition 0 de Danse F’ESTival sera l’occasion de découvrir deux pièces de deux compagnies différentes. Les 17 et 18 mars, il s’agira de deux créations. La chorégraphe Nadège McLeay présentera d’abord La fragilité des apparences, Partition #2, qui pose une question largement mise de côté par la création chorégraphique contemporaine : celle des relations danse-musique. La chorégraphe se livre à une exploration rigoureuse d’une partition comportant plusieurs lignes musicales, auxquelles répondront les trois danseuses, en une sorte de contrepoint charnel. En deuxième partie, Marilén Iglesias-Breuker présentera Opéra Soppio, « un périple en Patagonie – Tragi-comédie en trois actes », qui traite avec humour et virulence de l’histoire d’un territoire mythique, transformé en une réunion cocasse de brebis, d’idéalistes, d’Indiens et de touristes… Le 19 mars, la soirée s’organisera autour du thème « Que la terre survive et nous aussi ! », avec la reprise d’Opéra Soppio et, en première partie, Forêt de larmes, la création 2007 de Brigitte Canonne : un témoignage sur la biodiversité et sa mise en danger à travers l’évocation de la forêt et des êtres qui y vivent.
