En première partie, le studio 104 accueille le trio Das Rainer que forme le saxophoniste Rémi Dumoulin — qui s’inscrit avec beaucoup de talent, dans le phrasé comme dans le son, dans la filiation de Joe Lovano — avec le pianiste Bruno Ruder, qui joue dans ce contexte exclusivement du Fender Rhodes, dont il fait miroiter les sonorités avec une grande poésie. À leur suite, le pianiste Baptiste Trotignon présente la première d’une nouvelle formation baptisée Old and New Blood, un quintet dans lequel il réunit des talents contemporains tous très actifs sur la scène du jazz actuel : le trompettiste Matthieu Michel (entendu notamment auprès de Michel Benita), le saxophoniste Adrien Sanchez (du groupe Flash Pig), le contrebassiste Viktor Nyberg et le batteur Gautier Garrigue (membre du Sand Quintet de Henri Texier). Soit une configuration de musiciens qui savent embrasser la tradition du jazz comme s’en émanciper de manière très libre.
