NOGENT / KLEZMER
Ce magnifique musicien new-yorkais, qui vient de fêter ses 60 ans, est depuis 20 ans l’un des artisans inspirés du renouveau klezmer. De la musique classique à l’électro, du jazz au rock, David Krakauer est avant tout un musicien d’aujourd’hui, explorant et interrogeant, au fil des projets, son identité de juif new-yorkais. Dans son dernier album, « The Big Picture », il s’emparait de souvenirs cinématographiques, confiant à son nouveau groupe les musiques de Cabaret , La vie est belle , Les chariots de feu , La liste de Schindler ou Radio Days : « J’ai choisi de revisiter ce matériau, avec un sextette plus en capacité d’improviser, de jouer plus funk ou classique » confie David Krakauer. Sur scène, la musique s’épanouit dans un environnement de projection de visuels conçus spécifiquement pour le projet.
