Théâtre du Train Bleu / Texte et mise en scène de Dieudonné Niangouna
Si l’on connaît surtout Dieudonné Niangouna pour ses pièces-fleuves, dont la dernière en date est Portraits / Désirs (2022), cet auteur, metteur en scène et comédien congolais aime aussi à créer régulièrement des formes plus légères. Il y est parfois seul en scène, comme dans Le Kung-Fu (2014), où il retrace son parcours intellectuel depuis sa découverte du cinéma jusqu’à ses premiers pas au théâtre. De ce côté est de nouveau le lieu d’une parole intime. Sous le nom de « Dido », Dieudonné Niangouna incarne un patron de bar qui lui ressemble. Comme l’auteur, son personnage a dû quitter son pays parce qu’il défendait un théâtre engagé.
Au théâtre comme au bar
Dans le bar que Dido a acheté à crédit pour y faire un « stand up à répétition » pourtant, un metteur en scène vient le chercher. Il souhaite lui offrir le premier rôle dans son prochain spectacle, La fin de la colère. C’est donc un Dido en proie à bien des questions d’acteur que l’on découvre dans De ce côté. Il n’est pas tout à fait seul pour y répondre : dans son bar, les habitués sont pour beaucoup des fantômes du passé. Parmi ses vieux frères de théâtre, Dido dessine les grandes lignes de ce que pourrait être un théâtre vraiment engagé. Entre Dido et Dieudonné, la distance est définitivement très mince.
