Dès l’origine, le théâtre se mêle au vin. De l’essence dyonisiaque de la tragédie aux processions bacchiques perpétuées par le carnaval, il n‘y a jamais eu qu’un pas des planches aux fûts. Avec Dégustation, le Théâtre du Jarnisy porte sur scène un court traité philosophique – Petite philosophie de l’amateur de vin – écrit par Thierry Tahon. De quoi réfléchir, plus qu’à l’ivresse, à la dégustation, et à ce qui motive la passion du vin. Sur scène, Francis Freyburger et Hervé Lang se préparent donc à boire mais retardent le passage à l’acte à coups d’interrogations et de réflexions sur le plaisir qu’ils comptent en retirer. Descartes, Bergson, quelques grand maîtres sont convoqués. Et dans leur costume blanc, à la manière de Bouvard et Pécuchet, les deux compères mènent une enquête qui tente de dénicher l’essence de leur désir. Devant eux, bien qu’ils soient mosellans, deux verres de rouge, et quand les mots refluent, dans toutes les bouches, c’est l’alcool qui se met à parler.
