Théâtre du Rond-Point / de Lars Norén / mes Marcial Di Fonzo Bo
Faisant partie d’un corpus de pièces écrites par Lars Norén dans les années 1980 en réaction au « théâtre bourgeois », Démons (texte publié par L’Arche Editeur) présente l’enfer conjugal dans lequel sont plongés deux couples de voisins. « Au-delà du regard pessimiste que l’auteur porte sur la relation homme/femme, Démons raconte la tentative d’un couple pour atteindre l’amour le plus absolu, explique Marcial Di Fonzo Bo. Cette passion destructrice vient en opposition au mode de vie du couple voisin (…). Ce qui est intéressant, c’est ce que produit la rencontre de ces deux couples : elle décentre notre regard. On assiste à une véritable descente aux enfers qui se déploie dans un engrenage irréversible. » Mêlant « impudeur et cruauté », « exhibition et vérité », Lars Norén brosse ici un portrait sans concession de la figure du couple. Un portrait que l’auteur suédois rapproche de la célèbre pièce d’Edward Albee : Qui a peur de Virginia Woolf.
