La question claque à la gueule du présent, gentiment ripoliné aux gaies couleurs du consumérisme positif. Pourtant, le corps souvent dit le poids des ans… Féroce manipulateur de maux autant qu’habile rhéteur, le conteur Pépito Matéo observe le phénomène de sénescence dans son Dernier rappel. Il pioche dans les mythes et l’épopée du roi Gilgamesh en quête du secret de vie éternelle, récits qu’il coupe avec des témoignages collectés à même le vécu de personnes âgées. Seul dans une maison de retraite dessinée à grands traits d’imaginaire, il livre la chronique d’une existence, où hier et aujourd’hui se coursent sur les chemins de la mémoire. La verve frémissante, l’humour finement coupant, Pépito Matéo avance en équilibre entre émotion douce-amère et cinglant constat.
