Pierre, Paul et Hélène se sont aimés il y a vingt ans. Paul et Hélène ont laissé Pierre tout seul dans la maison commune. « Je n’ai rien fait, je suis resté là. Je gardais cet endroit, ici. C’est là que nous avons vécu et rien d’autre. », dit celui-ci. Paul et Hélène sont partis et ont fini par s’installer dans la normalité matrimoniale chacun de leur côté. Un dimanche les fait tous se retrouver au temps des bilans, alors qu’Hélène veut vendre la maison des premières amours. Ensemble, ils reviennent sur leurs traces et sur les hypothèques du passé. Solde-t-on les sentiments, les regrets et les souvenirs aussi facilement que les biens immobiliers ? Partage-t-on les dépouilles des attachements défunts aussi aisément que les choses ? Julie Deliquet choisit de mettre en scène le texte de Jean-Luc Lagarce en « imposant le collectif » : tous les acteurs sont au plateau et rien ne vient masquer l’aventure intérieure en forme de règlement des comptes.
Une réussite en demi-teintes
Un tel parti pris suppose écoute et disponibilité entre les comédiens, qui doivent jouer avec subtilité de la présence et du détachement. Or, si les prestations individuelles sont de qualité (très crédible interprétation d’Olivier Faliez en Antoine, commercial sans grande envergure métaphysique dont se rient les anciens compagnons de sa femme), voire d’une belle et authentique intensité psychologique (remarquables accents chez le Pierre d’Eric Charon), le chœur demeure assez souvent statique et lorsque les comédiens deviennent spectateurs des crises successives des différents personnages, leur présence muette a tendance à alourdir le plateau sans véritablement créer de tension palpable. Les effets hallucinatoires du décor (projections et sonorisation signifiant l’exaspération du malaise) et l’ambiance d’une maison en travaux ou en déroute illustrent assez platement les conditions du drame. L’ensemble compose un spectacle qui sert le texte de Lagarce sans véritablement le trahir mais sans complètement en exhausser la subtilité non plus…
