Mon premier s’accorde au kamanché, cette vièle dont il joue en maniant l’archet. Natif d’Istanbul en 1973, Derya Türkan – que l’on vit notamment auprès du joueur de ney Kudsi Erguner et du contrebassiste Renaud Garcia-Fons – est à cinquante ans l’un des grands maîtres de ce continent de musiques qu’est la Turquie. Mon second pose ses agiles doigts sur le bağlama, ce luth à long manche joué sans plectre. Erdal Erzincan est lui aussi ce que l’on a coutume de nommer un « virtuose », une appellation un tant soit peu restrictive pour qualifier l’art et la manière de ce disciple du génial Arif Sağ – il a aussi joué avec le fondamental Kayhan Kaylor –, dont la spiritualité s’enracine dans une transmission séculaire. Mon tout devrait accoucher d’un dialogue instruit autour de la musique mystique alévi et bektashi, vibrant de la longue tradition anatolienne tout en la projetant dans un nouvel espace-temps. En un mot : passionnant.
