De chaque côté de la scène, deux groupes de jeunes gens se font face et s’observent. Ils ne parlent pas la même langue. Aucun de ceux du jardin et de ceux de la cour ne veut faire le premier pas. Entre les deux, au milieu de la scène, un homme et un petit garçon sont seuls. L’homme interroge l’enfant. L’enfant ne répond pas. Il a perdu sa langue. Que peuvent-ils se dire et raconter ensemble ? La danse prend le relai de la parole : une danseuse de flamenco bouleverse l’espace et la position des groupes et les langues sont enfin partagées. L’enfant retrouve la parole, et l’amitié et l’amour finissent par l’emporter sur le dédain et l’ignorance. « Dans un monde où domine le repli sur soi et ses propres certitudes, c’est de cet échange-là dont nous voulons témoigner dans notre travail. C’est ça qui nous donne du plaisir et nous rend vivants. », disent Philippe Dorin et Sylviane Fortuny, en humanistes de la scène.
