Chorégraphe de la rencontre entre le savant et le populaire, Dominique Rebaud aime raconter des histoires tout comme écouter celles des autres. Ici, c’est tout un processus qui est mis au jour à travers deux événements publics, l’un collectif, l’autre plus intime et personnel. Il s’agit pour la chorégraphe d’élaborer des parcours chorégraphiques, à la rencontre de ceux qui, dans leur vie quotidienne, inscrivent à leur façon la danse dans la société. Les pratiquants de tous bords sont l’objet de rencontres et d’observations menées par la compagnie Camargo. Ou comment creuser la question de la culture chorégraphique au sens le plus large du terme.
Un long processus, de Brétigny à Vitry
Ces moments intimes de découverte mutuelle entre pratiquants et artistes donnent lieu par la suite à des retrouvailles plus collectives au théâtre à travers les Danses Ouvertes, qui sont en quelque sorte le prolongement du processus. Ce grand moment donne à voir la vitalité d’une communauté en mouvement cherchant un élan créatif commun. Une vitalité mise en lumière également à travers un Bal Mêlé, mêlé de professionnels et d’amateurs, de danses populaires et de danses savantes… Profondément nourrie par ce processus, ainsi que par la rencontre avec Gérard Astor en tant qu’auteur et directeur du Théâtre de Vitry, Dominique Rebaud retourne ensuite à la forme solo, et signe pour elle-même une forme où elle témoigne de son engagement autour du corps, quel qu’il soit : Corps commun, corps singulier.
