Cette nouvelle pièce semble découler de tout un parcours…
Rachid Ouramdane : Oui, lors de mes précédents spectacles, j’ai rencontré beaucoup de personnes, et récolté leurs témoignages. Beaucoup abordaient des violences vécues, des actes de barbarie. Dans le solo Loin…, on trouve un fragment d’entretien qui aborde les tortures que mon père a subies à son retour en Algérie, après avoir combattu en Indochine. Il y a là la question de cet héritage familial, et aussi celle de la transmission de cette expérience : comment les gens reçoivent-ils cette parole ? Comment cela joue-t-il dans leur imaginaire, comment cela ressurgit-il ? On est toujours un peu tétanisé par des choses qui sont inimaginables, indicibles, que l’on ne peut pas représenter. J’ai conçu ce projet à un moment de banalisation de la torture : c’était les années Bush, avec Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib, le problème des droits de l’homme avec les JO de Pékin…
Comment passe-t-on du témoignage personnel et émotionnel à la création ?
Ce qui est intéressant, c’est de voir comment les gens ressentent le témoignage, de voir son impact affectif. Il s’agit de donner à entendre autrement, d’arriver à créer un espace pour l’imaginaire. Pour cela, je travaille avec la vidéo. Le fait de mettre le témoignage en scène au travers d’un geste artistique lui donne une autre dimension, il s’agit de comprendre comment cette barbarie a pu se perpétrer, d’instaurer un lien entre ces personnes et les spectateurs, un lien actif qui nous mette dans la position de recevoir et de se mettre en armes.
Quel est le rôle des danseurs ?
Je me suis demandé quels corps pouvaient porter ces récits, les incarner, les restituer. Je travaille avec des gens qui pour la plupart sont issus du milieu de la contorsion, et qui peuvent partir de choses complètement banales pour arriver à des situations corporelles extrêmes. Il est possible de passer d’un corps que l’on reconnaît à une situation qui nous échappe. A quel moment le regard bascule-t-il ? Ces corps ont la capacité de se transformer, et d’entrer dans un travail à la frontière entre le documentaire, le plateau, la mise en scène, avec des fragments autobiographiques.
