On est heureux de retrouver la trace de cette magnifique jazzwoman danoise, à la fois pianiste, accordéoniste, chanteuse, compositrice et auteur, aperçue pour la dernière fois en 2007 en quartet chez Enja dans un répertoire de « crooner » (avec Aldo Romano en invité)… Elle nous revient aujourd’hui dans la formule la plus dépouillée et classique qui soit, celle du trio piano-basse-batterie, propice à l’expression de sa superbe musicalité sophistiquée et intimiste.

La chanteuse coréenne signe sous le titre « Same girl » son nouvel et septième opus (chez ACT/Harmonia Mundi), enregistré en duo avec le guitariste suédois Ulf Wakenius, son alter ego instrumental. La chanteuse, bien connue du public français (elle partage sa vie entre Paris et son pays natal depuis 20 ans), semble imposer dans ce nouveau projet ses visions musicales avec une autorité et une liberté nouvelles, soufflant le chaud et le froid, glissant du cri au murmure caressant, osant et chantant tout et son contraire, de «My Favorite Things » en solo en s’accompagnant elle-même à la sanza à une chanson traditionnelle coréenne, et de « Same girl » de Randy Newman à « La chanson d’Hélène » de Romy Schneider dans le film de Claude Sautet Les choses de la vie… Le bonheur à l’état pur du chant, instrument du moi par excellence et donc de tous les possibles.
