Le Tarmac / d’après Les affres d’un défi de Franketienne / mes Guy Régis Jr
Roman écrit en créole, Dezafi, traduit en français par l’auteur sous le titre Les affres d’un défi, est l’une des œuvres les plus célèbres de la Caraïbe, écrite par un grand auteur de la littérature haïtienne, Frankétienne. Il décrit avec une troublante précision la fin du règne d’un tyran, dont la cruauté dépasse l’imagination, et qui sera renversé par « l’avènement de la belle amour humaine », événement révolutionnaire entre tous qui, redressant les âmes esclaves, révèle l’ignominie de la force, la bêtise de l’oppression et fourbit les armes de la révolte. L’adaptation de cette fable aussi politique que poétique s’appuie, suivant la volonté du metteur en scène Guy Régis Jr, fondateur du Nous Théâtre, compagnie phare de théâtre contemporain haïtien, sur une intention primordiale : « raconter mais en nous le faisant vivre, par nos sens, dans l’esprit de chaque mot, dans les moindres souffles, le comble de la tyrannie et le caractère inéluctable de la révolte».
