THEATRE DE SAINT-QUENTIN-EN-YVELINES / OPERA
Depuis plusieurs années, l’Arcal, la compagnie nationale de théâtre lyrique et musical, ambitionne de proposer à tous les publics des spectacles nourris par des thématiques philosophiques. Après L’Empereur d’Atlantis de Viktor Ullman qui explorait la résistance à la barbarie par les arts ou la remarquée Petite Renarde rusée de Janacek centré sur « désir et liberté », c’est au tour du psychisme d’être sur la sellette. Dans la mise en scène de Benoît Bénichou, l’opéra de Purcell est vu sous le prisme des « profondeurs de la psyché humaine » pour tenter de comprendre comment l’inconscient et le refoulé agissent pour contrarier nos désirs apparents. Le jeune choeur de Paris, les chanteurs et les musiciens de l’ensemble Diderot dirigés du violon par Johannes Pramsohler superposeront voix et personnages pour « une vision contemporaine, plus intérieure et mentale » de ce chef-d’œuvre du baroque.
