Arrangés par le pianiste Vadim Sher, les grands tubes de la tradition populaire sont l’occasion, pour Gilles Benizio (du célèbre duo Shirley et Dino), d’un retour aux sources dans l’Italie de son enfance, « bercée par ces chansons venues de loin et dont le seul lien avec ces contrés inconnues sont les airs diffusés par le transistor dans la cuisine pendant que la mama prépare les pâtes. ». Accompagné par quatre musiciens (piano, percussions, guitares et saxos), qui participent aux jeux scéniques et aux improvisations, Dino partage avec le public « les sentiments, les émotions, l’humanité et le bonheur qu’on ressent lorsqu’on chante ces mélodies empreintes de mélancolie ». Le spectacle joue de toutes les facettes du divertissement, et même de celles de la cuisine : dès 20h, la Guinguette d’Achille accueille le public dans une atmosphère conviviale, et Dino commence à chanter et à mitonner la sauce tomate à 21h !
