La Marquise d’O…, nouvelle d’Heinrich von Kleist (1777-1821), publiée en 1808, nous invite « à explorer les différentes façons de construire la honte et de représenter les violences faites aux femmes, ou comment la rumeur et les croyances pèsent sur les mentalités du monde moderne », confie le metteur en scène Nikson Pitaqaj. Mystérieusement enceinte, rejetée par sa famille, plongée dans l’effroi et l’humiliation, la Marquise subit une violence inouïe. Le metteur en scène situe la pièce dans le contexte des Balkans, où il est né, qui a récemment connu la guerre. Deuxième opus : La petite Catherine de Heilbronn mise en scène par Coralie Pradet recrée avec treize musiciens et deux musiciens l’univers onirique et envoûtant de l’œuvre de Kleist, où une jeune fille d’à peine seize ans quitte tout pour suivre le Comte von Strahl. Amour foudroyant ? Cause surnaturelle ? La pièce, écrite en 1810, croise les genres et tient du feuilleton amoureux, du roman policier, du poème mystique, du mystère médiéval et de la fable grotesque, parfois comique. Catherine transgresse sans véritable explication les convenances et les règles, et ébranle l’ordre social et religieux. Deux pièces fascinantes qu’il est intéressant de confronter, et deux beaux personnages de femmes face à l’impossibilité de vivre.
