« Le théâtre est politique parce qu’il est un acte public. Dans mon cas, j’observe les contradictions de la langue pour ouvrir des points de vue différents de ceux auxquels la vie quotidienne nous a habitués. Je raconte l’histoire d’un pays métaphorique, où il y a une guerre civile. Un conflit auquel tout le monde est habitué, comme si la guerre était vraiment la continuation de la politique par d’autres moyens, comme le disait Clausewitz. Les citoyens de cette nation attendent la fin de la guerre comme on attend la fin de la pluie, comme quelque chose d’absolument naturel. Entre pluie et guerre, on aperçoit les citoyens, mais aussi les futurs tyrans qui veulent le pouvoir pour rétablir la dictature. Pour obtenir le consensus, ils doivent sortir, se montrer à la fenêtre et parler au peuple. Leur instrument est le discours. Le puissant veut convaincre le peuple d’accepter la loi du gros poisson qui mange les petits. Au Théâtre des Carmes, Michel Bruzat porte le texte à la scène avec Charlotte Adrien. »
