Création collective de la Compagnie des Mutants et de l’Ensemble Leporello, Disparus s’inspire librement d’œuvres telles que Deux ans de vacances de Jules Verne, Sa Majesté des mouches de William Golding ou L’Ile de Robert Merle. Dévoilant les comportements de huit enfants perdus sur une terre inconnue après un crash aérien, l’auteur et metteur en scène Dirk Opstaele cherche ici à montrer les revers de la civilisation, les fragilités d’une société qui vole en éclat et laisse peu à peu place à une organisation tribale, sauvage, violente. « Nous racontons l’histoire de ces Disparus non pas de manière réaliste, mais avec distanciation et humour », explique Martine Godart, directrice artistique de la Compagnie des Mutants. « C’est pour cette raison que nous avons choisi de travailler avec l’Ensemble Leporello »,poursuit-elle. « Associant avec bonheur texte, mouvement et chant, Dirk Opstaele ne fait appel à aucun artifice : il privilégie le jeu d’acteur. »
