Et si les danseurs devenaient une espèce en voie de disparition ? Nacim Battou, dans Dividus, nous plonge dans une dystopie qui n’est pas sans rappeler la réalité : le spectacle vivant n’existe plus depuis longtemps, la plupart des populations en ont perdu la nécessité comme les codes. À quoi pouvait-il bien se référer ? Que pouvait-il transmettre ? Par chance, ont été conservés quelques cellules souches de danseurs. Des « individus 0 », témoins du passé. Pour l’heure, ils sont enfermés dans une boîte qui permet de les observer à loisir. Ils viennent de tous les horizons artistiques et esthétiques du paysage chorégraphique du passé. Avec eux, il va falloir réinventer en même temps qu’un nouveau vocabulaire du geste, une nouvelle manière d’être où les individus sont devenus « dividus ». Un concept emprunté au romancier Keiichiro Hirano, pour qui le dividu réunit la richesse de toutes nos personnalités différentes et nous définit en tant qu’être social. Reste que dans Dividus, la danse est bien vivante, faite de rencontres et de croisements, essentielle et… bien réelle.
