Le théâtre romain D’Origlia-Palmi, installé dans une cave près du Vatican et connu pour l’enchantement plus ou moins discutable de ses drames religieux puisqu’ils versent malencontreusement dans un comique involontaire, est un puits de souvenirs pour Arias qui vient de quitter l’Argentine. L’artiste un rien mélancolique met en scène aujourd’hui un Divino Amore plein de gaieté, un spectacle culte pour un passé remémoré avec une tendresse facétieuse. Un hommage au mauvais théâtre et au mauvais goût délibéré, teinté d’un mysticisme crû occupé uniquement de la gloire d’un Dieu d’apparat. Du grand kitch assuré, d’autant que la passion quotidienne du prieur humain, qui se voudrait divine, reste d’abord incontrôlable et terre-à-terre. L’intensité de la foi spirituelle s’expose à toutes les dérives charnelles. Depuis des hauteurs mystiques jusqu’à des terrains glissants qui passent par un chemin de croix personnel, un gouffre encore inconnu avant l’accomplissement vertigineux de l’appel des sens. Une ode à la reconnaissance de toutes les identités sexuelles marginalisées, ainsi la transsexualité.
Brunes sulfureuses, gorge pudique, longues jambes de danseuses
Celestina, la fille parjure qui a quitté le théâtre religieux pour New-York et un de ses gratte-ciel sur pilotis, parle ainsi à sa mère Bruna – l’immense comédienne Marilu Marini : « Au dernier étage se trouvaient des hommes qui s’étaient collé des seins et creusé une chatte entre les jambes sans retirer leur bite. Et des femmes qui tout simplement avaient fait rajouter des bijoux de famille. Chacun se baisait soi-même… »Autant rire de ces malices grivoises éculées qui ne font plus rire, des railleries obsessionnelles que l’on doit à Arias et René de Ceccaty. Scéniquement, le drame biblique de Salomé est particulièrement insignifiant, de même le plateau lourd d’ennui où repose la tête de Jokanaan. Des tunnels que rattrapent avec bonheur les reines du disco, Sandra Guida et Alejandra Radano, des chanteuses argentines de comédies musicales talentueuses : elles investissent le plateau d’une grâce professionnelle de revue de variétés. Brunes sulfureuses, gorge pudique, longues jambes de danseuses, elles accordent à la représentation un rythme et un sourire enchanteurs. Belle séduction aussi du chanteur et danseur brésilien Antonio Interlandi qui déploie ses romances romaines à merveille. Un spectacle satirique et musical qui se moque autant du sacré que du profane. Des bouffonneries de paillettes compensées par l’envoûtement bien frappé de chansons swinguées. Un rappel lointain du vrai talent d’Arias, parti en voyage.
