Né en 1910 à Charleroi dans une famille manouche venue d’Europe centrale, Django Reinhardt reste, plus de cinquante ans après sa mort, la plus grande figure du jazz français et européen, dont il est le fondateur historique. Ce véritable génie de la guitare avait un rêve : dialoguer avec un orchestre symphonique. Son vœu est exaucé aujourd’hui par une belle équipe de musiciens qui lui doivent beaucoup. Paris accueille ce projet étonnant venu de Norvège, à l’initiative du guitariste et producteur Jon Larsen : adapter le répertoire de Django pour une grande formation symphonique avec la complicité du Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra et des solistes Biréli Lagrène (guitare), Florin Nicuslescu (violon) et Christian Escoudé (guitare).
