Être humain, ce n’est pas juste, et c’est tout aussi difficile que d’être un petit caneton noir soumis aux avanies de l’existence et à la méchanceté des plus grands. La pièce de Lies Pauwels s’empare de la référence au personnage inventé par Toni Pagot. « Faire son Caliméro », c’est pester contre le monde chaotique dans lequel on se débat, et essayer d’y trouver sa place, même quand on a la coquille un peu fêlée… L’artiste continue son travail réflexif sur la norme, invitant sur scène des personnalités atypiques pour « célébrer l’imperfection, la complexité humaine, la vérité sans masque ». Son carnaval est « un exutoire, une fête folklorique, un rite de passage, une ode à la danse et à l’inversion des rôles, où chacun a la liberté d’être qui il veut, où chacun cherche les contours d’un nouveau monde ». Entre performance, improvisation théâtrale et musique live (Dag Taeldeman et Andrew Van Ostade), entre rage et mélancolie, joie et extase, se déploie toute la créativité d’une humanité indocile.
