« J’aborde Dom Juan en acteur libre, avec la farouche naïveté de l’enfant, libère la pièce de ses décors et costumes, chasse les autres acteurs. », dit Laurent Rogero. Le comédien utilise tout son corps pour animer les personnages qu’il fabrique à vue, avec de l’argile et beaucoup d’humour et de talent. Il s’agit de jouer avec Dom Juan, en laissant au spectateur le loisir de l’interpréter. Il s’agit également de faire surgir, sous les masques que des siècles de réécriture littéraire et d’analyse ont plaqués sur le visage du grand seigneur et méchant homme, sa véritable expression. Jonglant avec ses créations marionnettiques autant qu’avec le texte, Laurent Rogero invente un Dom Juan hors normes, débarrassé de ses oripeaux, révélateur des subterfuges sociaux qu’il manipule, transforme et modèle à la guise de son désir d’en jouer. Le comédien devient tous les personnages, et mieux encore, se transforme en théâtre à part entière, en se faisant lui-même l’instrument, le lieu et le temps du drame.
