Sous le titre « Brahms, chants de vagues et de lune », Dominique Hoff choisit d’éclairer la beauté des lieder romantiques (elle a déjà abordé Schumann sur le même principe) en soulignant leur dimension poétique. Le texte de chaque lied est d’abord dit (dans une traduction originale de l’allemand) avant d’être chanté le plus normalement du monde. Et cela change tout ! La formule ouvre, autant pour le néophyte que pour le mélomane aguerri, de nouvelles perspectives de perception d’un répertoire souvent nourri par des textes d’une qualité littéraire exceptionnelle. L’ensemble du concert se conçoit alors comme un tout, les lieder s’enchaînant selon une dramaturgie plus poussée et prenante que dans le cadre d’un récital traditionnel. Avec Antoine Mignon au piano.
