Centre d’Art et de Culture / D'après Miguel de Cervantès / Adaptation et mes Jérémie Le Louët
Depuis dix ans, le metteur en scène et comédien Jérémie Le Louët se consacre avec sa Compagnie des Dramaticules à des œuvres où folie et pouvoir entretiennent des rapports intimes : le Macbett de Ionesco, le Richard III de Shakespeare, Le Horla de Maupassant, Ubu roi d’Alfred Jarry, et maintenant Don Quichotte. Créée à l’occasion de la 30ème édition des Fêtes nocturnes à Grignan, son adaptation du roman-fleuve de Cervantès interroge les mécanismes de la foi autant que l’institution théâtrale, et affiche d’emblée sa liberté par rapport au texte original. Après une vraie-fausse introduction d’un régisseur, un simulacre de présentation publique du projet soulève sans détours toutes les questions que pose l’adaptation d’un roman que même Orson Welles et Terry Gilliam ont échoué à porter au cinéma. Peut-on être fidèle à un roman dans une forme théâtrale ? Est-il possible de condenser mille cinq cent pages en deux heures ? Mêlés aux spectateurs, les comédiens posent les bases d’un théâtre qui n’a pas peur de se regarder en face. Une fois venus à bout de cette épreuve initiale, Jérémie Le Louët en Don Quichotte et Julien Buchy en Sancho Panza enfourchent leur monture à pédales et en carton et se lancent dans l’interprétation des aventures du chevalier à la triste figure.
