Opéra Bastille / Chor. Rudolf Noureev d’après Marius Petipa
Dès son passage à l’Ouest en 1961, puis lorsqu’il dirigea le Ballet de l’Opéra de Paris de 1983 à 1989, Rudolf Noureev eut à cœur de populariser les grands ballets du XIXème siècle, en livrant ses propres versions. Offrant une importance plus grande aux rôles masculins, accroissant la complexité des pas, il nous a laissé un Lac des Cygnes dont l’intrigue est centrée sur le Prince Siegfried, un Casse-noisette psychanalytique, une Cendrillon hollywoodienne. Don Quichotte, qui fut créé à Moscou par Marius Petipa en 1869 sur une musique de Ludwig Minkus puis modifié en 1872 pour le Théâtre Mariinsky, et que l’étoile hors norme dansa dans la version de Gorski au Kirov, fut de ceux-là.
Humour et rythme tourbillonnant
Entré au répertoire de l’Opéra national de Paris en 1981 et maintes fois dansé depuis, le ballet narre les aventures de la piquante Kitri et du barbier Basilio qui, voulant échapper au père de la demoiselle, multiplient les ruses pour se retrouver. C’est finalement Don Quichotte qui apportera à leurs amours un heureux dénouement, non sans avoir d’abord lutté contre les fameux moulins et rencontré Cupidon, Dulcinée et la Reine des dryades. Humour, rythme tourbillonnant et costumes flamboyants font de ce ballet hispanisant un spectacle idéal pour célébrer comme il se doit les fêtes de fin d’année.
